Cranial Sacral

"CST is a very gentle, light touch approach that releases tensions in the central nervous system so that every other system in the body can relax, self-correct and free itself of pain and discomfort."

Sharon Desjarleis

Cranial Sacral aka CranioSacral Therapy (as named by Dr. John Upledger) is a subtle, yet highly effective modality which focuseson the cranium, face, neck, flow of the cerebrospinal fluid and the proper functioning of the brain and spinal cord, meninges.

It was Dr. Upledger and his work with veterans in the 1999 that brought CranioSacral Therapy to the forefront.  Twenty-two Vietnam veterans who had been diagnosed with PTSD,.  All had been under VA treatment for at least 10 years; all were on permanent disabilities and were considered incurable by the VA.  "The majority of these veterans were manifesting progressive deterioration physically, psychoemotionally and spirituality. went thru two week intensive programs. The first in June and the second in December.

At the end of the program, the "positive results were quite astonishing...all showed significant improvement in craniosacral system function, reduction of symptoms... extremely significant improvement on all 13 parameters measured by psychological tests".
